My seven-year-old granddaughter came over the other day. She ran into the house and threw her arms around me with a big hello. Grasped in her hand was a torn half piece of paper.
Grandmary, here is my to-do list!
There is some sound wisdom in this list.
It is short. The list was limited only to what Meriel wanted to do during the hours she was at Grandmary’s house!
It is clear. My granddaughter could tell at the end of our time together if everything on the list had happened.
It is achievable. I am sure my granddaughter didn’t have anything on that list leftover for the next time she could get to it.
I know you have responsibilities. But maybe you have a to-do list like mine (not like Meriel’s) where you discover items that have been on the list months past due. Maybe your list gets longer and longer. Perhaps you get to the end of your day exhausted because the things you did get to on your list weren’t that satisfying.
Here’s the best part of Meriel’s list. It is a today’s list, not a to-do list.
Maybe we should all make a today’s list and not a to-do list!
May your lists be sure to heave fun!
A today list. Love it!
I love this.
